![]() The promenade between the side entrance near the Sports Book and the Lobby, once teeming with table games and slots, was almost deserted. The casino was also brightly lit which I did not care for. Needless to say, machines did not hit by any means. There was only one casino bar open during the time I was there and one by the Sports Book The slots had seemingly been drastically cut down and whole swaths of the casino were drywalled and partitioned off for renovation and transition to the Park MGM. Now the Monte Carlo, a mega resort is going down with the smaller properties for gaming. Just another dying facet of the Strip, gone are the Bills', O'Shea's, and the like. The property is undergoing a massive transition to be more upscale and cater to the wealthy. The casino is a shell of its former self. This trip, I liked the decor of the renovated room and that is not at issue as this is a review of the casino proper. I reviewed the Monte Carlo favorably in December of 2016. ![]() I stayed here in mid-December for a hockey game trip at the nearby T Mobile arena.
